Sonya L. Barbieur

Sonya L. Barbieur passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on April 30, 2023 at Altru hospital, after a long courageous battle with cancer.

Sonya was born on Aug. 13, 1985 in West Monroe, LA to Teresa (Barbieur) Perry and Sandy Savanna.

From 1985-1991 the family moved around a lot and in 1991-1995 she lived in Hamilton, ND and attended school in Cavalier, ND at Cavalier Public School.

Sonya attended Red River High School where she made a lot of friends and graduated in 2003.

Sonya was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Hamilton, ND.

Sonya enjoyed listening to music, being outdoors with her family and friends, camping and loved going to the races and hockey games with her 2 boys.

Sonya loved going and watching her oldest son play hockey since he was 5 years old.

Sonya is survived by her children, Cayden 16, and William 9 both of Grand Forks; mother, Teresa Perry (Darrell), Grand Forks; Father, Sandy Savanna, LA; Siblings, Tori, Williston and Kyle, Grand Forks, her Grandparents, Harvey and Rhoda Enerson, Grand Forks.

Sonya was preceded in death by her Grandma, Mildred McBroom Savanna Wilson; Grandpa, Steven Savanna; Grandpa, Robert Barbieur; Grandma, Donna Perry; Grandpa, Robert Perry; and very special niece, Chloe Lynn.
