Nancy Carole Cariveau Larson July 17, 1949 – October 5, 2022

Nancy Carole Larson, 73, of Grand Forks, died peacefully, surrounded by her family, on October 5, 2022, at Altru Hospital.

Born in Grand Forks on July 17, 1949, she was the daughter of John J. Cariveau Jr. and Mildred E. (Swenson) Cariveau.  She grew up in East Grand Forks, MN, and Grand Forks, ND, attending Sacred Heart and St. Michael’s schools, and graduated in 1967 from St. James High.

She received her degree from North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton, and spent the majority of her professional career working as an LPN in Altru Hospital’s psychiatric department. In her retirement, she enjoyed volunteering with the residents at Tufte Manor nursing home, and  she was honored to receive the North Dakota Long Term Care Association’s 2019 award for Volunteer of the Year.

Nancy married Myron (Mac) Larson on September 19, 1975, and together they raised three children. 

Nancy was a kind woman whose mission was always to care for others.  She loved flower and vegetable gardening, hunting trips, needlework, and spending time with family.

She is survived by her children; Angela (Travis) Lockwood of Grand Forks, Dustan Larson of Grand Forks, and Kyle (Amanda) Larson of Eden Prairie, MN; grandchildren; Finn Lockwood, Brayden, Joslyn, and Gavin Larson, her brothers; Darrell (Geraldine), Fargo, ND, George (Marilyn), Grand Forks, Greg (Linda), Pelican Rapids, MN, and Ross (Shiloh) Cariveau, Rochert, MN; her sisters; Pam (Lyn) Swenson, Grand Forks, and Marcia (Scott) Wahlstrand, Grand Forks, sister-in-law Mary Pat Cariveau of Grand Forks, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Duane Cariveau.

Memorial Services 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 13, 2022 at Amundson Funeral Homes in Grand Forks, with visitation one hour before the service.
