Lorilee ‘Lori’ Christine Adams passed away to her heavenly home on December 2, 2022 with her mother and sister present. Lori was born on 7/30/1977 in Northwood, ND at 4:02 AM, to Michael J Adams and Lynda Adams Vanderhoof.
Lori grew up within the Holmes Community where she was confirmed and was a member of the Holmes United Methodist Church. Her family made their home in rural Northwood, ND. Lori attended Northwood Public School K-12 and graduated with the class of 1995.
Lori had a beautiful singing voice and enjoyed playing the piano and clarinet. Her daughter then took after her mom by playing the clarinet in middle school. She sang solos, duos and in choirs. Though she was musically gifted, her athletic skills were somewhat limited. She would refer to herself as a “klutz”. She often bragged about the 1 basket she made in her stellar basketball career. She was a part of a dance/drill team in Northwood and was also a football cheerleader. Lori and her sister were both in ballet and tap classes as children.
Lori was a very beautiful, thoughtful person who loved her family dearly. While her daughter, Hannah attended Riverside School, Lori made cupcakes for the whole school so nobody would go without a treat.
Lori worked at many local dining establishments. Her favorite was perhaps as dining manager at Wilkerson Hall on UND campus, where she made many lifelong friends. Her last employment was as lead cook at the East Grand Forks Senior Center. She was especially appreciated for initiating evening international meals. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed making cheesecakes and her famous crab dip which everyone loved.
Lori was married to Arik P Solheim for 18 years and was blessed with 2 children, Ethan Phillip and Hannah Kathleen. She was the best mom and loved her children unconditionally. Both Ethan and Hannah graduated from Red River High School.
Most of Lori’s life was consumed with the struggles of Anorexia Nervosa, an eating disorder. Though it affected her in high school, it started to destroy her life in later adulthood. It made every aspect of her life more and more difficult. Her dream was to get well enough to speak at middle and high schools for the ones struggling/experimenting with restrictive eating. Lori was hoping to present the horrors of the disease and to encourage them to make better life choices.
Lori leaves behind her much loved children, Ethan Solheim (Maddie Zabel), Arvilla, ND and Hannah Solheim (Taylan Sangrait), Grand Forks, ND. She was so proud of each one of them. Others left behind; her mother, Lynda Adams Vanderhoof and step father David of Grand Forks, ND. Father Michael Adams and step mother Denise of Northwood, ND. Grandmother ElizabethAnn Adams of Northwood ND. Her brother Brandon(Tanya) Adams of Northwood ND, brother Nathan(Amanda) Adams of Grand Forks ND, sister Mandy(Mike) Hanson of Grafton ND, step sister Amanda(Josh) Boyer of Northwood ND and many more loved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Lori was preceded in death by her grandparents, Delmer and Gertie Roeder, Thompson ND, Ardell Adams, Reynolds ND and aunt Pamela Adams, Reynolds ND.
Lori’s life journey was not an easy one but she was very tough and fought up till the end. Her sister, Mandy walked her through her final days and made the transition peaceful. Lori was misunderstood by many but loved by all. She will be forever missed by all who knew her. To God be the glory.
Private family services will be held.
