Greg Kurtz

December 25, 1961 — May 9, 2021

Gregory “Greg” John Kurtz, 59, unexpectedly passed away due to complications from COVID on May 9, 2021 at St. Francis Medical Center, Colorado Springs, CO.

Born December 25, 1961 in Devils Lake, ND, the son of Donald and Shirley (Niemi) Kurtz. In 1966 the family moved to Grand Forks, ND where he was raised and graduated from Red River High School in 1980. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Mayville State University. To further his education, he attended University of North Dakota and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. During his schooling at Mayville, he enlisted in the Army Reserves.

In 1981 Greg met the love of his life Paula Walden and married October 2, 1982. Together they raised two boys. Other than traveling employment they never spent a day apart. The love between the two was what every couple could dream of. Greg’s life revolved around his family.

Greg and his boys ran a family construction business and he enjoyed being able to spend every day with his sons, the bond they gained will be cherished forever. His current employment was with Structsure Projects as the Quality Control Manager on a project at Peterson AFB.

Greg was a busy body and a collector of all things. He had a love for anything with a motor, sports memorabilia, lake time, grill outs, spending time in his newly finished garage, building, creating projects and washing cars even if they were already clean. There was one rule at the lake, work time before play time. He never had time to sit he always had to be busy but when he would take a break you could find him watching shows related to cars, cops, or football. Evenings you could find him movie theater style watching an action flick. But most of all he loved his family and friends and spending as much time as he could with loved ones.
