Douglas Noel Grove

Douglas "Doug" Noel Grove, 76, passed away on October 9, 2020 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Douglas Grove was born to Adolph and Gladys (Evenson) Larson on February 22, 1944 in Crookston, Minnesota. After the death of his father, his mother married Art Grove. After the death of his mother, Douglas was raised by Art. Douglas attended school in Caledonia,  North Dakota, Climax, Minnesota, and graduated from Hillsboro High School, Hillsboro, North Dakota. He graduated from the University of North Dakota and served in the United States Army. He trained at Red Stone Arsenal in Alabama and was stationed in Korea. After his years of service, he worked in Minneapolis. He returned to Hillsboro and farmed with his father and worked at American Crystal Sugar.

In 1990 he married Ruby Murch Thompson in Crookston. They made their home in Grand Forks. Upon his retirement from American Crystal, he worked for the US Department of Agriculture. He was preceded in death by his father and stepmother Art and Violet Grove and stepson Shad Thompson. He is survived by his wife Ruby and stepchildren, Rachel (Glenn) Delage and Travis (Alexis) Thompson and grandchildren Bryce, Brett (Taylor), and Brandt (Upasna) Delage and McKenzie (Emma), Skyler, and Hannah Thompson.

Memorial Service: 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Amundson Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. 

Inurnment: Calvary Lutheran Church Columbarium immediately after the service. 

**In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Doug's honor to your local animal shelter.
