William Gauslow

May 21, 1953 — February 25, 2022

William “Bill” Gauslow, 68, Fargo, North Dakota, passed away Friday, February 25, 2022 at Essentia Health of Fargo.

William Neil Gauslow was born May 21, 1953 in Gary, Indiana, the son of Norman and Mabel (Gilbertson) Gauslow. He was raised in Grand Forks, North Dakota and graduated from Central High School. He attended the North Dakota State College of Science at Wahpeton, North Dakota where he was on the tennis team. He then attended North Dakota State University at Fargo where he lettered in Tennis. He really loved the Bison and following their sports seasons gave him great enjoyment in life. Bill later graduated from NDSU with a degree in architecture. He worked as an architect in Sioux City, Iowa, Denver, Colorado, Los Angeles, California and in Alaska before retiring to Prescott, Arizona. In his retirement, he designed a nurse’s building for a hospital in Prescott as well as a memorial to the members of the Prescott Fire Department's Granite Mountain Hotshots. The firefighter’s memorial was his most proud monument of any design. Bill returned to Fargo, North Dakota in 2019.

Bill was taken in by the deserts of the southwest and enjoyed photographing them. He also had great love of music, primarily jazz. Bill stayed physically fit most of his life until the years caught up. However, he always enjoyed watching sports – especially games with his favorite teams of the NDSU Bison, and the Chicago White Sox.

Survivors include his brother, Allen Gauslow; several nieces and nephews including Chadwick Anderson, Fargo, ND, Shelly Petty, Grand Forks, and Jean Gauslow, Bismarck, ND.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; and by sisters, Linda K. Anderson and Sandy Slevira.

A graveside celebration of Bill’s life will be 1:00 PM Friday, May 20, 2022 at Park Center Cemetery of rural Hoople, ND. Arrangements are with Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks, ND.
