William "Bill" A. Bolton

July 13, 1928 — March 29, 2019

William Arthur “Bill” Bolton, 90, of Grand Forks, ND, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2019 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.

Bill was born July 13, 1928, the son of Louis & Martha (Haug) Bolton at Grafton Deaconess Hospital.  He lived at the Auburn Depot for 2 years, moving with his family to Inkster in 1930.  Bill graduated from Inkster High School in 1946 as Salutatorian.  Bill served in the Army from 1951-53 and was honorably discharged as a corporal.

He married Lorna Lucht on July 25, 1954 in Faith Lutheran Church in Inkster.  They moved into a house in Grand Forks that Bill had built in 1955.  They were longtime members of Redeemer Lutheran Church.  Bill and Lorna were happily married for 43 years until Lorna’s death in 1997.

Bill was a lifelong skilled carpenter.  He built many homes in Grand Forks and was in high demand for cabinetry and other woodworking projects as knowledge of his skill and character spread by word of mouth.

Bill was very humble, gracious, generous and a patient man.  Even under trying circumstances and as his health deteriorated recently.  Many will mourn his passing.

He is survived by daughter, Janelle; sons, Gary, Mark (Lori) and Steve Bolton; sisters, Deloris and Patricia (Don); grandchildren, Andrew (Tara) and Joshua (Rosemary) Bolton and by many old, good friends.

Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Lorna; sister, Lorraine and brothers, Gerald and George.
