William “Bill” James Zimmerman, 66, Grand Forks, died Monday, May 8, 2023, at Valley Senior Living on Columbia.

Bill was born July 27, 1956, in Grand Forks, the son of George and Carolyn (Crane) Zimmerman. He attended school in Grand Forks at Lewis and Clark Elementary School, South Jr High School, Red River High School, before moving to Duchesne High School, Duchesne, Utah, and Union High School, Roosevelt, Utah where he graduated.

Bill started working at Grand Forks Grocery “GFG” (now US Foods) in 1976, working there until his retirement in 2021. On July 19, 1980, Bill married Suzan Storlien at University Park.

Bill is survived by his wife Suzan; sons: Casey and Corey (Nicole); three grandsons: Jace, Zachary, and Jackson; sisters: Faye (Richard) Pope, Nancy (Charles) Young, Lori (Wesly) Oian; brother David (Jennifer) Zimmerman, 3 nephews, 7 nieces, 10 great nephews, 6 great nieces, 1 great-great niece, 1 great- great nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at 3:30 p.m. at Hope Evangelical Free Church.
Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the start of the service.
