Wendy Soule

March 16, 1955 — July 25, 2021

Wendy Elise (Wegener) Soule, 66, of Grand Forks, found her eternal resting place in heaven on July 25, 2021, surrounded by loved ones. Wendy was born on March 16, 1955 to Alex and Myrna Wegener, in Wahpeton/Breckenridge. After Wendy graduated from Red River High School in 1973, she pursued a bachelor's degree in Spanish at the University of North Dakota, and later earned her masters degree in education from the University of St. Thomas. After graduation, she taught Foreign Languages at South Middle School for 35 years. Wendy loved her students and was dedicated to providing a high quality education with a side of fun. Following many chance encounters, Wendy ultimately married her soulmate Richard Soule on July 8, 1978 and were blessed with two children, Matthew and Hayley. Wendy had many passions in life including restoring furniture, decorating spaces, swimming, shoes, golfing, crosswords, cribbage, creating art, traveling, utilizing her foreign language skills, and spending time with friends and family. She had a generous heart and quick wit which allowed her to connect with everyone she met. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She could be found reading stories, baking, and creating activities for her grandchildren who she loved dearly. Her zest for life was contagious and her laughter could fill a room. She knew how to engage and audience and keep them captivated with her story telling abilities. Wendy was preceded in death by Alex Wegener, Harry Camp (step father), Julie Bissel (niece), Janet Soule (sister-in-law), Bill Wasserberger (brother-in-law). She is survived by her mother Myrna Camp, her siblings Myrnell Brusegaard, Ava Bergan, Barry Wegener, Jay Wegener, Ross Wegener, her loving husband of 43 years, Richard Soule, her children Matthew (Courtney Hill) Soule and Hayley (Tony) Richter, her grandchildren Finn, Lilly, Cal, Poppy, and Juniper Richter.
