Vivian C. Finnie, 94 of Grand Forks, North Dakota died Monday, January 1, 2024, at Valley Senior Living, Grand Forks, North Dakota. 

Vivian was born on December 6, 1929, the daughter of Ivar and Thea (Struckness) Strande in Hatton, North Dakota. She attended school in Northwood, graduating from Northwood High School in 1947. Vivian was united in marriage to Wilbur G. Finnie on June 8, 1952, at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Northwood.

Vivian worked at the Grand Forks County Treasurer’s office for several years, until taking a position at the Tax Directors office. She worked there for nineteen years and retired in 1994. 

Vivian enjoyed puzzles, embroidery, coloring, and spending time with her kids and grandchildren.

Vivian is survived by three sons, Dale (Penny) Finnie of Mukilteo, WA, Gary Finnie of Meza, AZ and Scott (Wendy) Finnie of Kimball, MN; daughter, Debbie Deleski of Larimore, ND; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. 

Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 54 years, Wilbur, four brothers, Iver (Margaret) Strande, Nels (Lavera) Strande, Melvin (Vivian) Strande and Marvin (Dolores) Strande, sister, Gerda Strande and son-in-law, Cameron Deleski.

Visitation will be held from Noon - 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 5, 2024, at Amundson Funeral Home. Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 5, 2024, at Amundson Funeral Home.
