Virginia Knutson

Virginia Knutson, 83, Grand Forks, died Thursday, March 4, 2021 surrounded by her family at her home.

Virginia Sattler was born September 28, 1937, in Grand Forks, North Dakota, the daughter of Michael and Rose (Eisenzimmer) Sattler. She grew up and was educated in Grand Forks. She held several positions where she could share her passion of cooking.

Virginia married the love of her life, LeRoy Knutson on October 21, 1955 at St. Michaels Catholic church in Grand Forks, ND. From this union three daughters were born; Carol (Kevin) Solem of Grand Forks, ND; Jean (Jeffrey) Hjelseth of Casa Grande, AZ and Cheryl (Rod) Eckhoff of Shakopee, MN.

Virginia loved life. She always told it like it is, and she was kind, gracious, giving, and loving to her family and friends. Her unique sense of humor would brighten the room. She loved to sing and listen to music. She also loved to fish and spending time at their lake home on Lake of the Woods in Morson, Ontario, Canada. Virginia leaves behind her three daughters, seven grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren; sisters: Kathleen (Gary) Smith, Reardon, WA, Eileen (Wally) Abbott, Duluth, MN, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Amundson Funeral Home, Grand Forks.
Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the start of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley.
