Troy Bradley Nelson

June 2, 1967 — January 21, 2019

Early January 21, 2019, Troy Bradley Nelson and his beloved wife Jessica Rae Langerud Nelson died tragically while vacationing in San Diego, California.

Troy, son of Brad and Helen Nelson, was born in Fargo but spent most of his life at his family’s farm near Reynolds, North Dakota. Troy loved to explore the outdoors. He worked hard his entire life, bailing hay as a child and later as a salesman in his family’s business. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his many friends and family.

Jessica Rae, daughter of Don and Cyndy Langerud, was born in Devils Lake but moved to Grand Forks when she was only six weeks old. She left Grand Forks more than once, but always found her way home finally getting her dream life on a farm. She was a wonderful and caring woman, the ultimate hostess, loving to entertain friends and family.

Their life truly began when they met each other and fell in love. They complimented each other in both business and in life. Ten years ago they began Trojan Promotions, devoting their life to their new business. They renovated the Nelson Farm together, finally creating their own dream home complete with many animal companions. Both of them had a sincere heart for the well-being of others.

Our families and their friends will grieve tremendously over our loss. Troy and Jessica will be greatly missed and forever loved.

Troy is survived by his parents, Brad and Helen Nelson; sister, Tamara Reynolds; nieces, Victoria (Anthony Cole) Reynolds, AJ, Iahnna and Ameyah Cole, and Emily Reynolds. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gotfred Nelson and Theresa Erickson, Clarence and Frances Schlueter; and an uncle, Ronald Mikkelson.

Jessica is survived by her mother, Cynthia (Richard) Kinney; brother, Ryan Langerud; step sister, Ann (Jamie) Upton; nieces, Victoria and Emily Reynolds, Amorelle and Claire Upton. She was preceded in death by her father, Don Langerud; grandparents, Bob and Marian Alvestad, Alvin and Fern Langerud; and a cousin, Bobby Vetsch

A combined service to celebrate the lives of Troy and Jessica will be 2:00 PM Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Hope Evangelical Covenant Church of Grand Forks. Visitation will be for the hour before the service in the church.
