Tracy A. Weisert

Tracy A. Weisert, 79, Grand Forks, ND, died Tuesday, August 11, 2020 in his home.

Tracy Allen Weisert was born September 25, 1940 in Grand Forks, ND, the son of Edward and Theresa (Sandvig) Weisert. He was raised and educated in Grand Forks and graduated from Grand Forks Central High School in 1958. Tracy attended UND before beginning his career as a printer for the Grand Forks Herald. Tracy was an employee along with others at the time the Grand Forks Herald received the Pulitzer Prize Award. He retired after 46 years in April of 2003.

Tracy loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, plinking with his son Arthur, and hobby haying. He also enjoyed working on John Deere Tractors, especially vintage ones.

Survivors include his life partner, Barbara Poppe, Grand Forks; his buddy, Elvis; children, Arthur Poppe III (Cassie), Grand Forks, Theresa Weisert, California, and Diane Reusing (Bradley), Texas; grandchildren, Abby Calhoun and Joey Dalzall; and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Raymond and Dell; daughter, Debbie Weisert; and a granddaughter, Alyssa Reusing.

At Tracy’s request, no services will be held. Interment will be in Grafton Lutheran Cemetery, Grafton, ND. Arrangements are with Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks.
