Thomas "Tom" Russell Sannes Jr.

Thomas “Tommy” R. Sannes, Jr, 53, of Grand Forks, passed away Thursday, February 10, 2022, in his home. Tommy was born on Thursday, January 16, 1969, in Grand Forks, ND, the son of the late Thomas R. Sannes and the late Gail (Fladeland) Perry.

Tommy was a life-long resident of Grand Forks which was the only place he loved to be. Tommy was raised and attended schools here, graduating from Red River High School and the East Grand Forks Area Vocational Technical Institute with an auto mechanics certificate. In his younger years, he enjoyed BMX bicycle racing and later auto racing where he worked on the pit crews of his cousins, Pat Miller and Terry Sannes. Throughout the years, Tommy worked at Northern Potato, Hart Repair and Fabrication, Muddy Rivers (in the Townhouse Hotel), LM Windpower, and the grain elevator in Cummings, ND.

Tommy is survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 21 at the columbarium at Calvary Cemetery (corner of Columbia Road and 10th Ave N) with a gathering for family and friends following the ceremony, at Zion United Methodist Church, 1001 24th Avenue South.
