Terrance Lee Aafedt, 75, Grand Forks, died on Friday, April 1, 2022, at his home.
Terry and his twin brother Tom were born on May 26, 1946, at Deaconess Hospital in Grand Forks to Clayton and Belle (Cooper) Aafedt. His father Clayton was a pilot and farmer in Fordville. Terry was nicknamed “Percy” by a good friend, and it stuck.
He served in the US Army serving in Vietnam. He was a proud member of the American Legion and the North Dakota Vietnam Veterans.
He married Karen Bjornstad in 1976. They had two daughters, Stephanie, and Sherrie.
Terry and his brothers farmed and owned the Fordville Flying Service. Terry retired from farming in 2000. He and his significant other, Diane Lizakowski, moved to Grand Forks a few years later. Terry liked watching golf and the Minnesota Vikings. He also enjoyed having a cold beer on his patio or driveway.
Terry will be dearly missed by his significant other, Diane Lizakowski; daughters: Stephanie (Levi) Murray, and Sherrie (Mike) Murray, Diane’s daughter, Becky (Chris) Papenfuss, his grandchildren: Cash, Everly, and Lainey Murray all of Bismarck, and Kyia and Chloe Papenfuss of Fargo, brother Tom (Janet) Aafedt of Omaha, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Charles, Roger and sisters-in-law Diane and Janice.
Memorial service will be held Friday, April 8, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Amundson Funeral Home, Grand Forks.
Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the start of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Fordville American Legion, or The American Cancer Society.
