Susan M Buckley

Susan “Susie” Marie Buckley, 69, passed away on Jan. 29, 2025, from cancer. 

Susie was born March 5, 1955, to Owen and Margaret Haen in Grand Forks, where she lived her entire life. She was baptized at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. She graduated from Central High School and Aakers Business College. 

On March 7, 1974, she married her high-school sweetheart Robert “Bob” Buckley, Jr. A devoted wife, she and Bob shared a life of love and commitment until his passing. Susie worked at Hugo’s and Tanabe Dental Group. 

She cherished her time camping at area lakes. A creature of habit, Susie took pride in her routine and kept a clean and tidy home. She disliked cooking but enjoyed making and sharing her signature desserts. 

Susie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bob; her parents; and brother-in-law Michael Buckley. 

She is survived by her son, Matthew (Tera) Buckley; grandchildren, Keegan and Tianna; siblings, Kathy (Steve) Geoghegan, Sandra Haen, Scott (Carla) Haen; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Jennie Buckley, Barb McWalter, Scott (Jody) Buckley, Kathy (Mark) Holm, and John (Cathy) Buckley; partner, Dean Braseth; and many nieces and nephews. 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Grand Forks Youth Hockey Association or Hospice of the Red River Valley. 

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am at Amundson Funeral Home on Monday, February 3, 2025. Visitation will take place at Amundson Funeral Home one hour prior to the service.
