Steven Langerud

Steven “Henry” Langerud, age 56, of Edinburg, ND passed away on April 14, 2024, at the University of Minnesota Fairview Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN. 

Steven Douglas Langerud was born on October 10, 1967, in Devils Lake, ND, the son of Steven Sr. and the late Mary (Brevik) Langerud.  He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Edinburg, ND. He graduated from Edinburg Public High School in 1986 and briefly attended the University of North Dakota. He worked in Grand Forks, ND for Barrel of Fun/Frito-Lay as a route sales representative and as a soil tester for Mairs Ag Consulting, Edinburg, ND.  

He was united in marriage to Tracy LaHaise in May 1988 and had two children: Ashley and Brenton. Steven was a proud father and grandfather and always looked forward to attending sporting events, holiday celebrations and birthday parties.  

Steven was a great cook, just like his mother, and for the past several years worked as a cook and bartender at the Spud Bar in Crystal, ND where he took pride in planning and prep for weekly wing, taco, and steak nights. As of recent he’d estimated that he had grilled over 25,000 steaks during his time at the Spud.   He enjoyed shooting pool with his pool league buddies, playing poker and watching just about any sport on TV.  He was kindhearted and loved reminiscing with friends both old and new.      
 
 Steven is survived by his children; Ashley (Andy) Nephew, Grand Forks, ND, Brenton (Danielle) Langerud, Grand Forks, ND; grandchildren Ellason “Ella”, Everly “Evie” and Averie; sisters; Jane (Doug) Grinde, Bismarck, ND and Jill (Shane) Waslaski, Moorhead, MN; nieces and nephews; Ruth, Esther (Jonathan), Nils, Jonah, Maggie, Harry, Charlie and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will all miss him dearly.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary, grandparents; Hank and Clarice Langerud, Erma and Vernor Brevik; sister Julie, aunt Joy (Brevik) Russell and uncle James Brevik.  

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Amundson Funeral Home, Grand Forks, ND with visitation one hour prior to the service.  Inurnment will be at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Edinburg, ND in the summer.
