Shirley Mae Palm, 79, Grand Forks, died Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Parkwood Place.
Shirley Mae Aaker was born September 17, 1941. She grew up in the Larimore, North Dakota area.
She was married to Don Palm and their union was blessed with 3 daughters: Vicki (Randy) Piper, Wanda (Don) Rouse, and Wendi (Ahmad) Ghassemi. Later in life, Shirley enjoyed at 20 year relationship with Allen Lee.
Shirley earned her cosmetology license, and she shared her love of learning with her daughters and granddaughters. She was proud that her daughters went on to earn advanced degrees and her granddaughters who have completed or working 0on their college degrees.
Shirley was a long-time member of Calvary Temple where she was referred to as the “mother of the church”. She loved to volunteer in the community with different organizations.
Shirley is survived by her daughters: Vicki (Randy) Piper, Wanda (Don) Rouse, and Wendi (Ahmad) Ghassemi; her granddaughters: Nichole Suckow (Rabun Wallace), Kirsten Piper, DeAndra (Richard) Navratil, Samantha (Dan Jackson) Piper, Natalie (Chris) Beasley, Casandra (Dillon) Altepeter; and her sister Helen Palm.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her special friend Allen.
A private family service will be held Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Amundson Funeral Home.
