Shirley Dahl

Shirley A. Dahl, 92, died Wednesday, November 27, 2019, at Sanford Hospital, Fargo, ND.

Shirley Ann Deeter was born on May 30, 1927, in Barton, ND, to Arthur M. and Mae Ann Deeter.  She graduated from Rugby High School, Rugby, ND, and the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, ND. 

On December 31, 1950, Shirley married Marvin (M.O.) Dahl.  They lived in Grand Forks, ND, and we're married for 65 yrs.  Shirley taught school for 34 yrs. as a high school biology teacher in Carrington and Fordville, ND,  Fisher, MN, and a life science teacher at South Junior High School in Grand Forks, ND.

She had been a member of Sharon Lutheran Church, Delta Kappa Gamma, and PEO.  She and M.O. enjoyed travel, camping, UND sporting events, and spending time with family and friends.

Shirley is survived by her three children;  Cindy (Andy) McLean, Fargo, ND, Susan (Dana) Hanson, Bothell, WA, and Mark (Vickie) Dahl, Meridian, ID.  Seven grandchildren;  Benjamin McLean, Reno, NV, Rachel McLean, Los Angeles, CA, Jacob McLean, Fargo, ND, Danielle Gallacher, Lynnwood, WA, Sara Garrett, Everett, WA, Amanda Dahl, Boise, ID, and Caitlin Dahl, Grand Forks, ND.  Three great grandchildren;  Ryder and Brenley Garrett, Everett, WA, and Quintin Gallacher, Lynnwood, WA.  One sister, Doris (John) Senger, Menlo Park, CA. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Meredith (Wm) Seals, and brother Kenneth Deeter.

A private family memorial service will be held in the spring.
