Sherry Lynn (Rose) Dunn, 47, of Moorhead, MN, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 1, 2021, at Sanford Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer.
Sherry was born on December 26, 1973, in Grand Forks, ND, the daughter of Lyle and Rosalie (Krile) Rose of East Grand Forks, MN. After graduating from East Grand Forks Senior High, she went on to earn her degree in management at the University of Minnesota, Crookston.
After graduation, she started a career in the financial industry in Fargo, ND. She was a valued member of UBS for more than 20 years, most recently as Administrative Manager and Associate Director.
In 1998, she was united in marriage to Peter Dunn and moved to Moorhead, MN shortly after, where they built their home. Together, they welcomed their son, Dixon, into the world in 2009.
Sherry’s world revolved around her family, and she could most often be found cheering Dixon on at his hockey activities. She could always be counted on by her large community of friends and family. Sherry was a loyal UND hockey fan, an active crafter, and dedicated bargain hunter. She was always up for a travel adventure and especially loved exploring New York City and Boston and putting her toes in the sand on St. Pete’s beach in Florida.
Sherry is survived by her husband, Peter, and son, Dixon, of Moorhead; parents, Lyle and Rosalie Rose, East Grand Forks; mother-in-law, Sandra “Jo” Dunn, East Grand Forks; sisters, Cindy (Steve) Schauer, East Grand Forks, and Karen (Bryan) Benson, Thompson; sisters-in-law, Pamela (Peter) Olson, East Grand Forks, Paula (Daniel) Curran, Moorhead, Peggy (Stuart Mattson) Dunn, East Grand Forks; brother-in-law, Patrick Dunn, Grand Forks; nephews and nieces: Tyler Schauer, Nicholas Schauer, Cullen Benson, Lochlan Benson, Casey (Jenny) Olson, Michael (Amy) Olson, Jeff Olson, Katie (David) Widger, Courtney (Chris) Hastings, Ashley (Chris) Gamlin, Alex Larson; and many aunts, uncles, great nephews and nieces, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Joseph and Mary Krile and Walter and Esther Rose; father-in-law, James Dunn; aunts, Patricia Krile, Valjeanne Johansen, LaVonne Johnson; uncles, Merle Johansen, Arnold Krile; and cousins, James Krile, Deborah Rose, Brenda Johansen, David Johnson, and Daryl Johnson.
Funeral Service will be held Friday, October 8, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, East Grand Forks.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 7, 2021, from 5 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Amundson Funeral Home, Grand Forks. Visitation will continue one hour before the start of the service at the church.
Donations made in lieu of flowers will be used to support her son’s education and charities special to her.
