Grand Forks

Scott Phillip Sanborn, 54, of Grand Forks, North Dakota passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at Valley Memorial Senior Living under the care of Hospice of The Red River Valley.

Scott was born on December 14, 1969, to Arthur and MaryAnn Sanborn in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Scott was raised in Grand Forks attending Viking Elementary, Schroeder Junior High and graduating from Red River High School in 1988. Scott was baptized and confirmed in faith at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Grand Forks where he served as an acolyte in his younger years.

Growing up, Scott was active in soccer, tennis, baseball, bowling, Taekwondo and softball. He adored his older brother who nicknamed him Super Buddy and they had a lot of adventures in life together. He spent many years fishing with his father on Lake of The Woods, snowmobiling, and traveling. Scott owned and operated a limousine service in Grand Forks and later went on to work for Strata Corporation. He enjoyed cheering for the Minnesota Twins and was an avid Sioux hockey fan. Scott was a quiet man, keeping mostly to himself but always getting together with and enjoying time with his family was important to him.

Scott is survived by his parents, sister Kathy (Donnie) Smith, Greely, Colorado, Dianne (Ron) Johnke, Grand Forks, North Dakota, Cyndee (Michael) Huesman, Fairmont, Minnesota, Lori (Lorren) Zemke, Fargo, North Dakota, brother, Steven Sanborn, Grand Forks, North Dakota, and many nieces and nephews.

Scott was preceded in death by his grandparents Alice Sanborn, Bernard Sanborn and Philip and Caroline Roberts.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later time.
