Sandra “Sandy” Neil, 73, East Grand Forks, passed away peacefully January 12, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Sandy was born June 22, 1951, the daughter of John and Stephie (Kosmatka) Ebertowski in Grand Forks. She graduated from Oslo High School in 1969.
Sandy married the love of her life, Jim Neil on April 23, 1975, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, East Grand Forks. Together they built a beautiful family and raised 4 children. Sandy was a caregiver by heart, a CNA by trade. She cared for several others throughout her life.
Sandy was a vibrant and loving soul, cherished by all who knew her. Above all, she treasured the moments spent with her family, always eager to be together, creating lasting memories. Her love for capturing life's beautiful moments was evident in her passion for taking pictures and crafting beautiful collages, often with a poem or two to accompany them. She found joy in life's simple pleasures, whether it was dancing to her favorite tunes, attending a garage sale in search of hidden treasures, or enjoying a game of bingo.
Her beautiful garden was a reflection of her nurturing spirit—she took great pride in tending to her flowers, which bloomed as brightly as her smile. Thanksgiving was her favorite holiday, a time when she would decorate the home with love and warmth, always ensuring that the whole family could gather around the table. It was during these times, surrounded by loved ones, that her radiant smile shone the brightest. Sandy's presence was a blessing, and her memory will continue to fill our hearts with joy, laughter, and love.
She will be deeply missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Sandy is survived by her devoted husband Jim, children: Tina (Bob) Hanson; Tricia Sersland; Travis (Jenny) Neil; Tammy Sue (Jesse) Johnson; grandchildren: Stephanie Coauette, Rachele Neil, Casey and Anthony Coauette, Ashley (Guillaume) Tike, Faith Sersland; Madalyn (Simon) Fisher; Josh, Brody, Ryan, and Theo Neil, Brittney Neil, Ryder Neil, Easton Johnson; great grandchildren: Lenni and Louis Tike; niece Jasmine Ebertowski; and a large loving network of extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Karen, brothers Jackie and Ron and Auntie Denise.
