Ruth E. Severinson

Ruth E. Severinson, 86, passed away on September 21, 2021, at Hatton Prairie Village in Hatton, North Dakota. 

Ruth was born on January 12, 1935, to Charles and Clara (Nelson) Fullerton in Mayville, ND.  On October 17, 1952, Ruth married Robert J. Severinson at Zion Lutheran Church in Reynolds, North Dakota.  The couple made Reynolds their home for over 50 years, and Ruth worked as the clerk at the Post Office there until her retirement.  Ruth and Robert were married for 61 years before Robert’s passing on May 8, 2014.  Ruth moved to Hatton Prairie Village on September 8, 2021.

Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and delightful friend.  She was an avid reader and spent many happy hours within the pages of her favorite books.  She had a wonderful sense of humor and liked nothing more than to share a laugh with others.  Ruth was a true animal lover, and especially enjoyed telling everyone about her beloved cat, Honeybun.

Ruth is survived by her son, Robert D. Severinson of Mayville, ND; her daughter, Rachel (Joe) Fischer of Reynolds, ND; grandchildren, Danielle Skavlem (Tyler) of Buxton, ND, Lindsay (Tara) Skavlem of Colorado Springs, CO and Devin Skavlem (Chad) of Climax, MN; great-grandchildren, Kori Gustafson, Evelyn Zielske and William Bouffleur; siblings, Gary (Carol) Heskin, Bev (Jim) Patrick, Sharon (Kat) Beaulieu and Jim (Kathy) Heskin, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Preceding Ruth in death were her parents; stepfather, Harold Heskin; husband, Robert; sisters, Mary Mundle, Darlene Orlowski and Joanie Heskin; and brothers, Dale and Steven Heskin.

In remembrance of Ruth, a memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Reynolds Lutheran Church in Reynolds, ND.  A public visitation time will begin at 1:00.  With concerns regarding Covid-19, masks will be required, and the family asks for your understanding with limited space at the church.
