Ronald Robert Mattson, 69, Grand Forks, ND died from a brain tumor on June 19, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Ron was born July 4, 1951 in Devils Lake, ND to Robert & Roseann (Pierson) Mattson. He attended school in Devils Lake and graduated from Central High School in 1969. Ron continued his schooling at NDSU where he received a Pharmacy Degree. He worked as a pharmacist for over 40 years and enjoyed interacting with people as they strived for better health.
Ron married Donna Monteith on July 15, 1972 in Devils Lake. They lived in Marshfield, WI and Wisconsin Rapids, WI before moving to Grand Forks, ND in 1986. Ron & Donna enjoyed traveling and planned yearly trips with all the kids & grandkids. It was important to Ron to show his kids what a good man looks like, what a good dad looks like, what a good husband looks like.
Ron loved photography and was a dedicated woodworker and made all of the family furniture as well as many home improvement projects for home, Sharon Lutheran, and Christus Rex.
And his heart was full of music. He sang in church choirs from boyhood on. He sang in Sharon’s men’s quartet for 25 years.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; four children, Troy (Marsha), Jim, Tara (Will Breedlove), and Emily (Seth Dallman). Grandchildren: Morgan & Brooke Mattson and Ford & Paxton Breedlove. Brother: Jack (Anita) Mattson. He was preceded in death by his parents.
God Bless His Memory.
