Roger Heggen passed away at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, North Dakota on December 25, 2018.
Roger George Heggen was born February 9, 1943 to parents George and Evelyn (Paulson) Heggen at his grandmother’s farm, rural Stephen, Minnesota. He was the second of four children in his family.
Roger was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church. He attended rural School District 77 and Stephen High School. After high school Roger enlisted in the U.S. Army. He was stationed on the East Coast and spent one year in Germany as a tank driver. After his discharge at Fort Dix, New Jersey, he returned to Stephen, Minnesota and later moved to White Sulphur Springs, Montana working on ranches and at the Berg Garage. He met and married Barbara Schendel at White Sulphur Springs, Montana. They were married for 29 years. They had three children, Paige, Chad and Blake. After retirement, Roger moved to Manvel, North Dakota, and more recently to St. Ann’s Guest Home in Grand Forks, ND.
He is survived by his children, Paige Evans, Chad (Nancy) Heggen, and Blake (Stephanie) Heggen; four grandchildren, all of Montana; sisters, Carole (Wes) King, Townsend, Montana, Barbara Andre, Manvel, ND; brother, Bruce (Mary) Heggen, Park River, ND. Three aunts survive as well as several nieces and nephews, including a very special niece, Nicole Andre.
Roger was preceded in death by grandparents, Gjert and Ella Heggen and Erick and Hilda Paulson; his parents George and Evelyn Heggen and special friend, Jean Brown.

Memorial Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church of Manvel, ND, with visitation the hour before the service in the church.
