Rodney J. Bubach

January 15, 1942 — September 9, 2020

When you were with Rod, you were guaranteed to laugh and feel loved.

Rodney James Bubach left this world unexpectedly at the age of 78 on September 9, 2020.

Rod was born on January 15, 1942 in Marion, North Dakota. Preceded in death by the love of his life, Pati, and son, Troy, he leaves behind three sons, Kelly (Audra), Kevin (Bethany), and Keith (Liv); six grandchildren, Brandi (Austin), Bailey (Mehdi), Ryan, Dax, Tera, and Landry; and five great-grandchildren.

After high school, he married Patricia Keith, joined the Air Force, and traveled the world with his young family. After serving in Vietnam, his career took him to Greece, Turkey, California, Texas, and North Dakota. While in the military, he received numerous awards and commendations, and was proud to have traveled to the former Soviet Union as a missile inspector for the United States government. After settling in Grand Forks, he mentored young airmen, coached baseball, led Boy Scout troops, and built the family home. If he had any regrets in life it may have been that Pati passed away before him. His stories and adventures will live on in all of us.

Until we meet again Dad, RIP. Services will be held in the Spring of 2021 in Marion.
