Rodger W. Gruber

Rodger Willis Gruber was called home on Saturday May 13th to his heavenly home and family from the Halstad Living Center in Halstad MN. Rodger was born to Alfred John Gruber and Martha Serian Lein on January 15th 1951. Rodger attended grade school in Fargo ND and lived through the tornado of 1962 in Riley Acres in Fargo ND.

Rodger was a jack of all traits - he worked for Driscoll Farms during potato season - he later worked road construction for Gowan Construction out of Olso, MN as a flagger and flagger supervisor. Rodger retired in 1997 after suffering an accident that affected his legs.

Rodger meet his wife of 36 years Ruth Ann Ketterling in 1982 at the Grand Forks City Mission. Rodger married Ruth on January 31^st, 1987 at the Grand Forks City Mission Chapel.

They were blessed with 3 beautiful daughters -- Anita Marie (Samantha Diane Rassier ) of Aitkin, MN  in Sept of 1984 - Hope Star -(Danielle Marie Rassier) Grand Forks ND -on June 25th 1990 and Vienna Rose (Vienna Rose Devig) of Grand Forks ND on May 16th 1991. They brought joy to his life. Rodger faced  many obstacles over his life of 72 years but this last back surgery was more than he could endure.

Rodger is survived by his wife of 38 years, Ruth Ann Ketterling Gruber; and daughters, Samantha , Danielle and Vienna Rose

Rodger is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Martha; his brothers, Leon and Albert; sisters, Helga and Elizabeth; his mothers-in-law, Lucille Lydia Kurle Ketterling -- Lucille Arlene Ketterling; and his fathers-in-law, Oscar Edward Ketterling and Jacob Ketterling.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 24, 2023 in the NE corner of Memorial Park Cemetery, Grand Forks.
