Rob Fuglesten, 64, of Buxton ND, left us too soon when he passed away on September 6, 2022, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks. Robert Dale Fuglesten was born September 1, 1958, in Mayville ND, to John and Emma (Olson) Fuglesten, the baby brother to three sisters and four brothers. The Fuglestens were a close-knit family. When his dad died when Rob was just 15 years old, Rob was a rock for his mom at that time, and throughout her life.
Rob graduated Central Valley School with the class of 1976, then attended Wahpeton State School of Science, where he received an Associate’s Degree in Electronics. He immediately began working for Otter Tail Power Company in Devils Lake.
While in Devils Lake, he met Lorna Crouch, it was love at first sight, and they were married April 12, 1985, in Devils Lake. The couple later moved to Fergus Falls where they lived until recently when they moved back to Buxton into a lovely home, to be closer to family, including brothers Gary and Gene, and their families.
Rob was a loyal Otter Tail employee for more than 40 years, holding several job titles, ultimately dispatcher and dispatcher trainer. His Otter Tail family was very important to him.
Rob enjoyed spending time with family, socializing with friends, taking care of his lawn, golfing, playing pool and driving his red Ford pick-up. He was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand; he had the biggest heart, was so kind, and loved to joke and laugh. Rob was an amazing, loyal, and attentive son, brother, uncle, husband, brother-in-law, son-in-law, and friend.
Rob is survived by Lorna, his wife of 37 years; sister Carole Young; brothers John (Loretta), Gene and Gary (Deb), sisters-in-law Susan Schwab, Tammy Remmen and Molly (Ed) Johnson, brothers-in-law Joe Darling, Pat Crouch, Mike Crouch, and Allen (Allen) Crouch and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews, and best friend Kirk (Dawn) Waslien, all who will miss Rob dearly.
Preceding Rob in death are his parents, brothers Palmer and Glen, sisters Sonja and Judy, Lorna’s parents Agnes (Toots) and David, sisters-in-law Kathy Fuglesten and Laura Crouch, and brothers-in-law Dennis Crouch, Gary Remmen and Dave Young.
The family would like to thank Buxton First Responders, Sanford Hillsboro Ambulance, West Traill Ambulance and Altru Hospital for their exceptional care.
