Robert Lee Reis, 65, died on September 26, 2018 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND.
Robert was born at Bismarck, ND on April 14, 1953 to Peter and Rose (Leier) Reis. He was raised on the family farm in Kintyre, ND and attended country school for several years before attending school at Napoleon, ND. He graduated from Napoleon High School in 1971. Bob attended Valley City State College and the University of North Dakota where he pursued a business degree. He married Sharon Schwartzenberger on August 11, 1972 in Napoleon, ND and they welcomed two sons to the family, one in 1979 and one in 1984.
Bob started at the University of North Dakota Aviation department as a work study student in 1974 and worked his way up to be the Business Manager of this department where he worked until 1997. He then pursued a career in investments and has worked in that field as a broker until his death when he was employed at Stifel Nicolaus. Bob also continued to farm on the family farm and most of his vacations were spent farming. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandson, and at the lake.
Robert is survived by his wife, Sharon; son, Robert L. Reis II (Henry Hawley); son, Travis J. Reis (Grace Kim); grandson, Landon V. Reis; parents, Peter and Rose Reis, sister, Brenda L. Reis (Cliff Frasch), mother-in-law, Leona Schwartzenberger; aunts, uncles, in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. Robert was preceded in death by all of his grandparents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 1, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 216 Belmont Rd, Grand Forks, ND. Visitation at Amundson Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. on Sunday, September 30, 2018. Visitation will continue 1 hour prior to the start of the service at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Interment following the service at Calvary South Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Napoleon Care Center, 311 East 4th Street Napoleon, ND 58561.
