Robert M. Huebner, 71, Grand Forks, died Friday, November 6, 2020 in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks due to complications of Covid-19.
Robert Michael Huebner, the son of Kenneth and Rosalind (Austin) Huebner was born at Oakes, North Dakota on June 13, 1949. He grew up on the family farm there. He attended high school at Oakes. Robert later attended Wahpeton State School of Science where he earned a degree in diesel mechanics. He moved to Grand Forks in 1969. From 1970 to 1982 was employed by the National Guard as a mechanic. Robert was married to Debra (Nelson) Schmidt for 22 years and had three sons, Brad, Chad, and Ross. Bob loved taking his sons camping and hunting during the years when they were growing up.
He loved cars and tractors, especially Ford Mustangs and Shelbys. Bob owned many Mustangs throughout his years. He was always on the look out for his next deal. He was always in the garage working on cars and he instilled that love of cars into his three sons whom all of which all pursued careers in the automotive field and love Mustangs. Bob always had a tractor or car project he was tinkering on. He frequented his son's business's and was always willing to lend a hand. Bob was always caring to others needs and the first one willing to help with anything. Bob was always a friend when you needed him and his optimistic advice was such an encouragement. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his sons, Brad Huebner (Darcey), Chad Huebner (Sharon), Ross Huebner (Kjersten). Grandchildren, Cole, Payton, Britnie (Kenny), Justin, Ruby, Benny, Brooks, and Mack. Great-grandchildren, Emma, Olivia, and Marcelo; siblings, Diane Kimball, Kathy Austin, Stan Huebner, and Ady Huebner
He was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth Huebner, Rosalind Huebner, brother Mark Huebner, sister Virginia Roberts.
A private family service will be held.
