Robbie J. Compeau

Robbie J. Compeau, age 66, of Grand Forks, died Friday, March 7, 2025, at the Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Robbie James Compeau was born August 26, 1958, in Cavalier, North Dakota to James Compeau and Mary Goulet. Robbie graduated from Grand Forks Central High School in 1976, following graduation he continued his education and training in the automotive industry. Robbie worked at various jobs in Grand Forks during his career. In 1998, Robbie moved to Thief River Falls, Minnesota to be close to his children; he returned to Grand Forks in 2011.

Robbie enjoyed working on his cars, watching NASCAR races, singing, and spending time with his kids and family. Robbie was a proud father and grandfather. He always lit up the room with his charming sense of humor and silliness.

Robbie is survived by his children, Heather (Tom) Kroes of Willmar, MN, Justin (Natasha) Compeau of Grand Forks, ND, Amanda (Brian) Giovannoni of Dayton, OH, Christopher (sig. other Anna) Compeau of Thief River Falls, MN, Kayla-Mae (sig. other James Larson) Compeau of Thief River Falls, MN, and Ashley Compeau of Thief River Falls, MN; grandchildren, Kelsey, Kayla, Dylan, Morgan, Aaliyah, Evan, Cale, Karmella, Niko, Alek, and Emilia; great-grandchildren, Nova and Ariana; and many other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Darlene Sanbeck and James Compeau; sister, Nancy Walter; infant sister, Sandy; and stepfather, Peter Sanbeck.
