Rita Mae Moreland, age 69, passed away peacefully at her home in Grand Forks on May 2nd, 2024. Born and raised in the heart of Grand Forks, North Dakota.
In 1971, Rita found her lifelong partner in Marlin, and their union was celebrated at Sharon Lutheran Church, marking the beginning of a beautiful journey together. Rita's dedication to her family was unparalleled; she found her calling in nurturing her family and creating a warm and welcoming home.
A talented homemaker, Rita's passion for cooking, crafting, and creating was evident in every aspect of her life. Her trips to the Ben Franklin craft store were a source of joy, where she eagerly sought inspiration for her next project from the pages of Annie's Attic magazine. In her kitchen, she was a master, serving her family delicious meals, while her skillful hands brought sewing projects to life.
Later in life, Rita and Marlin moved to Inskter, North Dakota, where they enjoyed the simple joys of nature, watching deer roam freely in their front yard and basking in the beauty of God's creation. In 2021, they returned to Grand Forks, enjoying moments with family.
Rita's legacy of love lives on through her devoted husband, Marlin Moreland, her sons Mike (Alicia), Greg, Jon (Cindy), and Bobby (Sara) Moreland, and her grandchildren Courtney, Mason, Aiden, Chase, Emilie and Logan. She is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Stella (Stenberg) Kvamme, and her siblings. Rita's presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
