Richard H. Carlson, 84, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2024. Born on February 17, 1940, in Badger, Minnesota, to Tollef and Ruby Carlson. Richard married his wife, Ann Vernes, July 24, 1959, and they were inseparable until her death in April 2012.
Richard had a lifelong passion for photography, vintage watches, and pens, treasures he collected with care and expertise. He owned and operated an agricultural chemical business and his love for photography inspired him to establish Carlson Camera in East Grand Forks, where he and Ann spent their later working years.
Preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife, Ann Carlson, and his brothers Ron, Roger, and Terry. He is survived by his children, Kim Williams (Greg), Kathy Badeaux (George), and Kevin Carlson; his granddaughter, Claire Larsen (Jonathan); his great-grandson, Jonah Larsen; and his sister-in-law, Nancy Kammerman, as well as many nieces and nephews.
As a husband, dad and grandpa Richard was silly, he was unique and he was one-of-a-kind. He will be remembered for his wit and humor. Faith was of the utmost of importance to him, he wanted others to know the love of Jesus as well. Richard touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed.
A private family memorial was held in his honor Burial service to follow in spring 2025
