Rhanda Beth Clow, affectionately known as "Rhandi" by her friends and “Maya” by her grandchildren, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2024, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, just one day before her 70th birthday.
Rhanda Beth Clow, the daughter of Harvey Wade and Mildred June (Hawkins) Glenn, was born on October 6, 1954, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Rhandi spent her childhood all over Oklahoma and Texas, moving every few years for her father’s work. She eventually ended up in Pembina, North Dakota where she met the love of her life, Miles Scott Clow, at age fifteen. They were united in marriage on November 25, 1972 at Humbolt United Methodist Church, Humboldt, MN and remained married until Miles’ death on October 23, 2020. The couple raised four children together while they both attended school at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. Rhandi received a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a master’s degree in counseling, and a PhD in counseling psychology. She practiced as a licensed psychologist at the University Counseling Center at UND from 2002 until her retirement in 2021.
Rhandi loved to paint and create art in her spare time, calling herself “an artist by behavior, not by the outcome.” She also loved nature. Her favorite spots were always those with plenty of trees, the sound of water, and the smell of grass and wildflowers. She also loved spending as much time as possible with her five grandchildren, who affectionately called her “Maya”.
Rhandi is survived by her four children, Kelly (Dawn Kidle) Clow of Tampa, FL; Brian (Stacey) Clow of East Grand Forks, MN; Erin Clow (Scott Monson) of Grand Forks, ND; and Kristen Clow of Grand Forks, ND; grandchildren: Aivlyn Clow, Evan Clow, Kittson Monson, Myles Monson, and Owyn Monson; her sister, Victoria LaFleur of Jacksonville, TX; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.
Rhandi was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Miles Scott Clow, her parents Harvey and Mildred Glenn, and her brother Gary Glenn.
