Raymond Millard

February 16, 1936 — January 13, 2020

Raymond LeRoy Millard, 83, formerly of Minneapolis and Rush City, MN, passed away January 13, 2020, at Edgewood Memory Center, East Grand Forks, MN, where he had been a resident for about three years.

  Ray was born in Clearwater County, MN, to Victor and Ella (Juve) Millard on February 16, 1936. The family moved to Grand Forks, ND, when he was 7 years old. He attended Roosevelt Elementary School, South Junior High and graduated from Central High School in 1954.

  He was employed at Holt Printing Company in Grand Forks before entering the Army. He was stationed at Fort Bragg, NC, from 1959 to 1961. He returned to Grand Forks and was employed at Holt Printing Company until moving to Minneapolis in 1962.

  He was employed at Aetna Lithograph Company as Plant Superintendent from 1964 to 1975. In 1975, he started R&R Litho. Inc., in SE Minneapolis.

  After the sale of his business in 1990, he was employed with All-Brite Graphics in Anoka, MN, as Sales Rep. until retirement.

  He married Delores (Dolly) Mrozka October 9, 1970, in Minneapolis. They Resided there until moving to their lake home on LaBelle Isle, Rush Lake, Rush City, MN, after retirement. Dolly passed away January 28, 2012.

  Ray was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, American Legion, and Senior Center, Rush City; Rush Lake Improvement Assn., and Snowmobile Club.   

  He enjoyed snowmobiling, winter and summer fishing, following NASCAR and always a friend to dogs.

  He is survived by sisters Clara Skjei, Eau Claire, WI, and Joyce (Ray) Jarombek, Grand Forks, ND, special sister-in-law and brother-in-law Janet and Gil Mros, St. Paul, nieces Linda (Mike) Swenson, MaryAnn (Bob) Boisvert, Mary (Bruce) Beckman, Tammy Simon, Terry Benesh, and nephews Stan (Marcy) Mros, Tom (Kelly) Mrozka and Mark Benesh. Also, special friends, Glenn and Clarice Stream, Rush City, and many good friends at Rush Lake.

  He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.

  A Memorial service will be held Saturday August 21 11:00 am at Bethesda Lutheran Church 123 West Hamilton Ave., Eau Claire, WI.
