Raelinda Ann Sanders, died at Altru Hospital on February 12, 2025. 

Raelinda Ann Sanders, a cherished member of her community, was born on February 24, 1976, in Belcourt, North Dakota. She graced the world her presence for nearly decades, starting journey in life that ultimately led her to many fulfilling roles as an individual, mother, and friend. Her laughter and kindness touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She attended school as a child in Dunseith, she later graduated from High School in Flandreau, South Dakota in 1995, a feat she accomplished with pride. Raelinda maintained a zest for life, always eager to embrace new experiences. 

Raelinda's path took her to Grand Forks, where she became a dedicated taxi driver, professional cleaner, and cashier, most recently serving with warmth and respect at the Holiday on 32nd Ave. Her work ethic was unmatched; she approached each day with determination, showcasing her hard-working nature. She was known for her gentle demeanor, her loving heart, and an unwavering commitment to her family and friends.

Cooking was another cherished pastime, particularly making her beloved Indian tacos, which brought family and friends together around the table. She found fulfillment in entertaining her loved ones, creating moments of laughter and joy that will be forever remembered. Raelinda also enjoyed the thrill of a bingo game, reveling in the excitement it brought. Her artistic side flourished in her hobbies and interests; she found joy in sewing, painting with oil and watercolor, and beading, where she embodied her Native American heritage with grace and pride.

On February 12, 2025, Raelinda left this world at Altru Hospital, leaving behind a legacy of love and strength that will echo in the hearts of those she touched. Her warm spirit, innate kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family, especially her children, will be remembered by all who had the privilege of sharing in her life.

Raelinda's legacy will forever remain a bright light in the lives of her loved ones, inspiring them to honor her memory through hard work, creativity, and the deep love she so freely gave. She will truly be missed, but her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts and memories of all who knew her.

Raelinda is survived by her children: Justine “Tiny” and Alexander; father of her children, Johnny Chisholm; sisters: Dawn Ebertowski and Heaven Harding; brother, Darren Johnson, Matthew Johnson, and Joey Kanick; adopted mother, Joyce Rudd and aunt, Jane Johnson.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Mary Standing Chief Greenleaf and William Stories; along with numerous other aunts and uncles.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the East Grand Forks VFW on Monday, March 3, 2025 from 5-7pm.
