Rachel A. Coen-Tuff

Rachel Anari Coen-Tuff, 29, child of God and beloved daughter and sister was born August 17th, 1988 in Dubuque, IA to Peter and Karla Coen-Tuff. She was baptized on September 18th, 1988. Rachel’s growing up years were in Kenmare, ND, Carrington, ND, moving to Grand Forks in 1999 as a 5th grader. She is a graduate of Red River High School (2007) and Minnesota State University Moorhead (2011).

Rachel served in England for a year with the Young Adults in Global Mission program and attended Luther seminary in St. Paul where she earned her Masters degree in Children, Youth, and Family Ministry (2015). She currently lived in Fargo, ND where she served as the Director of Faith Formation at Faith + Journey Lutheran Church. Every place Rachel went she made deep, loving and lasting connections. Rachel was a unique gift to the world because she welcomed and cared for people so well. She remembered names and stories and made people feel they mattered and were seen. Rachel believed her calling was to work with children, youth, and families and those who watched her do this work knew that as well. Her faith was part of who she was. Rachel died suddenly of a pulmonary embolism while with her immediate family at the lake.

Rachel is survived by her parents, Peter and Karla Coen-Tuff, her brother, Matthew Coen-Tuff and his significant other Alexandra Benson, her sister and brother-in-law, Sarah and Ian Coen-Frei, her Grandfather, Douglas Coen. She is preceded in death by her Grandparents Don and Barbara Tuff and Peg Coen. Rachel’s aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends are also carrying on her memory.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 Am Saturday, July 14, 2018 at United Lutheran Church of Grand Forks.
