July 14, 1924 — December 10, 2022

Pearl J Berge, 98, passed away peacefully December 10, 2022, in Grand Forks, ND, surrounded by her loving family.

Pearl was born July 14, 1924, to Oscar and Randine Quanrud in Mekinock, ND. She grew up on the family farm near Mekinock and received her education in a rural one room country school.

On October 30, 1947, a perfect union was formed when she married Marlin “Mick” Berge in Grand Forks, ND.  They settled down in Grand Forks and shared 48 wonderful years together. Pearl was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished her family. She was an avid hockey fan and supported her children and grandchildren’s activities. Pearl was known for her baking and loved making lefse, frosted cinnamon rolls, banana bread, and homemade buns. Her grandchildren always looked forward to having peanut butter toast and rice krispie bars. Going to grandmas for puzzles, games, and playing pool was always fun for the grandkids. Pearl loved tending to her flowers every year and admiring them on her deck.

She is survived by her six children, Eileen (Mike) Nagle of Carolina Shores, NC, Jeanne Berge, Dorene Schumer, Karen Berge of Grand Forks, Diane (John) Rehder of Bonita Springs, FL and Mark (Jodi) Berge of Oklahoma City, OK; 17 grandchildren, Mike, Patrick, Courtney, Lindsay, John, Angie, Kristie, Michelle, Kim, Kathy, David, Joe, Ben, Katie, Mick, Josh and Maddie; 28 great-grandchildren, Liam, Kendall, McKinley, Charlotte, Emilia, Grant, Luke, Lars, Jacob, Owen, Brittany, Kayle, CJ, Dilan, Zane, Skyler, Bella, Zachary, Kira, Jack, Kylie, Drew, Kaden, Miela, Farrah, Rhett, Brooks, and Leighton; two great great-grandchildren Odin and Mila; three sisters Gloria (Jim) Wright of Duluth, MN, Darlene McGowan of La Center WA, Gail Bryan of Fergus Falls, MN; two brothers Larry (Carol) Shakopee, MN and Allen (Vernetta) Elk River, MN, and many nieces and nephews.
