Paul W. Machart, age 83, former resident of Grand Forks, passed away on September 3, 2024. 

Paul Wayne Machart, born on April 9, 1941, in Grafton, North Dakota, passed away peacefully on September 3,2024, in Grand Forks, North Dakota. He lived a life marked by dedication, service, and love for his family.

Paul Wayne Machart was born on April 9, 1941, in Grafton, ND to Raymond Machart and Eleanor (Skyrud) Freeman. His educational journey included attending school in Grand Forks, North Dakota, culminating in his graduation from Central High School. He met and later married Maureen DeLisle on August 20, 1966. To this union three children were born: Teresa, Paula and Blaine.

His commitment to quality extended beyond his professional life into his personal passions. Paul enlisted in the United States Navy, serving honorably for four before embarking on a rewarding career that spanned various fields. His professional journey began with Boeing Security, then as as an electrician in Washington. He later specialized as a maintenance worker, focusing on air handler maintenance and repair at Altru Hospital, a job he attended to with meticulous care and precision. Paul retired in 2003, having left a mark of quality and reliability in all his endeavors.

Paul took great pleasure in model railroading and cherished moments camping with his RV, traveling around the USA until 2017. In 2019, he and his beloved wife, Maureen, settled in Arizona, where they enjoyed the warmth of the sun and each other’s company.

Paul leaves behind a loving family who will carry forward his legacy. He is survived by his devoted wife, Maureen Machart; children, Teresa (Lee) Hudelson, Paula Lindstrom, and Blaine (Andrea) Machart; grandchildren, Colton (Hannah) Hudelson, Tanner Lindstrom, Tyler Lindstrom, April Hudelson, Paige Reed, and Zachary Reed; and great-grandchildren, Waylon and Henry Hudelson. He is also survived by his sister, Bonnie (Frank) Stebbins, along with nephews Brett and Dean Stebbins.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Machart and Eleanor Freeman Skyrud. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him, a testament to a life well-lived and a love deeply felt.

A private family conducted service was held on Wednesday, September 4, 2024.
