Paul Raymond Fladland went to His Lord on August 10, 2021, after a 5 year cancer battle. He was born in Grand Forks on June 12, 1951 to Raymond Fladland and Faye Vantine Fladland. He graduated in 1969 from Red River High School and 1973 from UND (B.S. in Business Administration). Paul married Glory Louise Trude on August 18th, 1973. Paul's spiritual gifts included service to others and hospitality which both Paul and Glory's parents modeled.
Paul's real estate career began in 1972. He received the GRI (Graduate Realtors Institute) in 1975, was local Realtor of the year in 1977, in 1978 he was the first CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) in North Dakota. In 1983 he was local Realtor President and served on many other committees over the years including the State Grievance/ Ethics Committee. During UND's 100th in 1983 Paul served on the Reenactment of the Laying Cornerstone Committee. Paul was awarded the CRB (Certified Residential Brokerage) in 1986. Paul loved serving his clients and customers and in several cases worked with three generations of client families. He also loved cooperating and working with fellow realtors and Affiliate Members of the Grand Forks Board of Realtors.
Service to the community included; Jaycees, Young Life, City/ County Crime Prevention, United Way, Red Cross, Chamber Membership Drives, Altru Community Board, Kiwanis for nearly 40 years - was a major fundraiser for pancake breakfasts and gave lots of donations back to the
community. Safe Kids and Salvation Army Bell Ringing were two of his favorite volunteer opportunities. Ministry involvement included choir, special music and cantatas, children's Sunday School teacher, Financial Deacon, Christian Service Brigade, hosting CEF 5-day Clubs, Elder Board and Saturday Men's Prayer Breakfast Ministry. Glory and Paul co-chaired Faith Evangelical Free Church’s 50th Anniversary and served together on short-term overseas missions trips.
Paul is survived by his wife Glory Fladland and three children/family; Elizabeth Fladland (Yuanjun Li), Scott Fladland and Angie Andreasen (Shane) and granddaughters Selah and Emma; sister Peggy Ganyo(Randy), sister Sally Miller (Larry), step-sisters Laurie Brown, Patti Peterson (Doug), Merrie Miller (Mike) and families.
Paul was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents and other beloved family members.
Paul was blessed by family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to missionaries or a charity of your choice.
Memorial Services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 16, 2021 in Faith Evangelical Free Church, Grand Forks. Visitation will be for the hour prior to the service in the church.
