Patrick "Pat" Ross

Patrick Ross (72) of Emerado, ND passed away on Monday October 17th, 2022, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, North Dakota. The eldest son of Howard and Lorna Ross of Alvarado and Warren, MN, Pat was born on October 6th, 1950. He spent his first few years in Alvarado before the family moved to Warren in the fall of 1963 where he graduated from Warren High School in 1968. While in High School, he played tuba and the drums in the rock band “The Malibu's.” He attended Moorhead State College for two years before he enlisted in the Navy where he spent nearly four years, finally retiring at the rank of Petty Officer 2nd Class. Between the navy and 1975, Pat worked as a seasonal farmer for friends and neighbors and continued this for many years to come. In 1975 he began working out at Grand Forks Air Force Base, where he worked as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for many years before moving up to a Certified Mechanics Instructor, which is what he did until he retired in 2007. After his retirement he took on his favorite job in his life; a doting and loving grandfather. He lived for his grandchildren and took a strong interest in all of their lives. He was preceded in death by his father Howard Ross, his mother Lorna Ross, his brother-in-law Lloyd Welin, and his infant niece Amy Christine Welin. He is survived by his children: Thomas (Heather) Ross, Michelle Ross, Samantha (Casey) Dahl, and Robert (Cortney) Ross; His siblings: Peggy (George) Van Kirk, Gary (Jane) Ross, and Julie Welin; and all of his grandchildren: Madison, Dillon, Kaley, Gabryel, Brooklynn, Cameron, Jazmine, Noah, Ella, Rylee, Jacob. Funeral services will be held at on October 24th at Amundson Funeral Home in Grand Forks, ND at 11am. Visitation at 10am. Burial services will be held at Greenview Cemetery in Warren MN, at 1pm.
