Patricia "Toni" Gage, 85, passed peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus Christ on February 16, 2020 at
Woodside Village, Valley Senior Living in Grand Forks, ND surrounded by her family.
Toni was born on March 17, 1934 in Carrington, ND to Anton and Barbara Lesmeister Piatz. She
attended school and graduated from Carrington High School in 1952. She was married to Duane Gage on
April 16, 1961 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Toni and Duane farmed and raised their family near Calvin, ND.
After retiring from farming in 1997, they moved to Grand Forks, ND and spent several winters traveling
to Arizona to escape the cold weather. Toni was an active member of Holy Family Parish in Grand Forks,
volunteering in several different ministries.
Toni had many hobbies and skills including sewing, knitting, crocheting and caring for her flowers. Her
greatest joy, however was being a mother and grandmother. She enjoyed attending concerts and
sporting events her children and grandchildren were involved in. She was their biggest fan and
promoter.
Toni is survived by her husband of 58 years, Duane; her daughters, Penni (Keith) Weston, Fargo and Peggi
(Anthony) Aymond, Grand Forks; 6 grandchildren, Amanda (Adam) Caillier, East Grand Forks, MN,
Andrew (Brenna) Weston, Elmira, NY, Sarah Aymond, Sioux Falls, SD, Matthew Aymond, Bemidji MN,
Joseph Aymond, Rochester, MN, and Abby Aymond, Grand Forks, and 2 great-grandchildren, Nora
Weston and Bennett Caillier, East Grand Forks, MN.
Toni was the last surviving member of her family and was preceded in death by her parents; 5 sisters,
Lena Theis, Margaret Anderson, Philomena "Pat" Theis, Catherine "Cathy" Simon, Rose Tollefson, and
one brother, Nicholas Piatz.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Holy Family Catholic Church.
Visitation will be the hour prior to the mass at the church.
Interment will be in the later spring at Calvary South Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
