Patricia A. Jensen

Patricia “Pat” Jensen, 91, of Edgewood in Grand Forks, died on Thursday, October 10th under the care of Hospice after a three year battle with leukemia. Patricia Ann Fee was born to Frank and Elizabeth (Malone) Fee on August 23, 1933. She was the youngest of 11 children. Her siblings were Emmet, Earl, Irene, Charles, Elizabeth, Francis, Madeline, Geraldine, Raymond, and Madonna. She was raised on a farm outside of Minto, ND. She married Waldon Jensen on April 23, 1953 in St. Michael’s Catholic Church. From this union were born Gail (Bill) Schmisek, Mark (Mary) Jensen, Gregg (Melody) Jensen, Jodi (Jim) Vittitoe, Karen (Charles) Schuler, and Jon (Linda Bata) Jensen.

 Pat was a devout Catholic and attended daily and Sunday Mass until her health required her to participate in Mass at Edgewood or on television. She said The Rosary several times a day and enjoyed reading religious books and prayers. She was a bit of a worrier and many prayers were said for family and friends.

 Pat always said Waldon was her soulmate. He often told her that he thanked God for finding her for him. He taught her the joys of fishing and camping. Many family vacations were spent camping in the lake regions of Minnesota.

 Pat and Waldon had many years of retirement together. They did lots of travelling. Their trip to Ireland was a cherished memory for them. They enjoyed volunteering at St. Joseph’s, Altru Gift Shop, and Meals on Wheels. Mom also volunteered for 40 years in Hospice. 

 Pat was preceded in death by her husband in 2014, her parents, 10 brothers and sisters, her two sons-in-law, Bill Schmisek and Charles Schuler.

 She is survived by her six children and their spouses, her eight grandchildren: Alexis Schmisek, Cassandra Schmisek, Anna (Tony) Breth, Jessica (Mac) Pace, Jesse (Brittany) Martinez, Jake (Brandy) Jensen, Ian (Sara) Schuler, Sean (Trisha) Schuler; and seven great-grandsons: Carter, August, Matthew, Xander, Logan, Dominic, and Gabriel. She missed the birth of her first great-granddaughter, Autumn, by one day. She enjoyed getting together with her extended family every August for a “Fee Family” picnic.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Grand Forks on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 11:00 am. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. A luncheon will be served in the church basement immediately following the service. Burial will be in Calvary North Cemetery, Grand Forks.
