Patricia Rose Cloutier

Patricia R. Cloutier, age 85, of Mekinock, passed away Monday, November 11, 2024, at the Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.

Patricia was born on February 18, 1939, in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, to Joseph and Lucy (Dowd) Rose. She grew up and attended school in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Patricia married William Hicks in Wareham, Massachusetts on September 24, 1955, supporting his military career as they relocated frequently. Together, they lived in Maryland, Oklahoma, Kansas, Spain, and Wyoming, they eventually settled in Grand Forks. In 1972, Patricia began working as an accounting clerk at the Grand Forks Air Force Base, a role she held until her retirement in 1996. On July 14, 1983, Patricia married Wilfred “Frenchy” Cloutier and made their home in Mekinock, ND. 

Patricia was a dedicated and active member of Ness Lutheran Church, where she was Secretary and Treasurer of the church and served on multiple committees. Known for her generosity, Patricia was passionate about helping others, sharing her talents in quilting and crocheting by creating items for local charities and those in need. A true homemaker at heart, she loved cooking and had an extensive collection of cookbooks. She also enjoyed crafting and collecting cherished keepsakes.

Patricia is survived by her children: Mike (Helen) Hicks of Grand Forks, ND; Lynn (John) Lee of Grand Forks, ND; Bill (Susan) Hicks of Twin Falls, ID; Dawn Winters of Naples, FL; and Lisa (Larry) Sayre of Mekinock, ND; as well as her 21 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren (with number 7 on the way). She also leaves behind her sisters, Lucy Peters of Teaticket, MA, and Carol Rose of Lake Alfred, FL; her brother, Joseph Rose of Round Pond, Maine; her brother-in-law, Bill Soares of Punta Gorda, FL; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Hicks; her husband, Wilfred Cloutier; her parents, Joseph and Lucy; her daughter, Cynthia Puckett; her grandson, Robert Lee; her sister, Lillies Soares; her brother-in-laws, Larry Rose and Abraham Peters; and granddaughter-in-law, Melissa Kleppen .

Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Monday, November 18, 2024, at Amundson Funeral Home with a time of sharing at 6:30 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at Ness Lutheran Church in rural Mekinock. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
