Nicole Rochelle Sperle passed away under the care of Moments Hospice on March 24, 2025. Nicki was born in Seoul, South Korea as “Got Nim Shin” on April 3, 1978, and was raised in Grand Forks by her loving parents, Kevin Sperle, Diane and Jay Gunderson. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic Elementary School, Schroeder Junior High School and Red River High School excelling in sports and academics. She took classes at the University of Minnesota before pursuing job opportunities in the Minneapolis, MN area. Nicki loved to spend time at her grandparent’s farm, especially with her older brother, Jamie. She loved everything about the farm and developed a fondness for animals that lasted all her life. She continued to be engaged in various sports and grew to be a wonderful cook. She especially loved to share with her younger sister, Jess, their passion for Korean food and K-POP.
Nicki is survived by her loving father, Kevin Sperle, Minneapolis, MN; mother and father, Diane and Jay Gunderson, Grand Forks, ND; brother, Jamie (Roni) Sperle, Grand Forks, ND; niece and nephew, Evelyn and Joshua Sperle, Grand Forks, ND; sister, Jess Gunderson, East Grand Forks, MN; brother, Jacob (Alli) Gunderson; niece, Islay Gunderson, East Grand Forks, MN, and numerous aunts uncles and cousins.
Nicki was preceded in death by her grandparents, Frank and Carolyn Sperle, Curtis and Rochelle Rice, Wally and Marilyn Gunderson; two aunts, Nancy Rice and Kellie Riehle Gunderson; and one uncle, Jeff Gunderson.
A private funeral service and burial for Nicole will be attended by immediate family members and held at a later date.
