Myron "Mike" Ordell Breiland

Myron "Mike" O. Breiland, 93 of Grand Forks, North Dakota, formerly of Buxton, North Dakota died Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, North Dakota. 

Myron was born on May 20,1931, the son of Ole and Jennie (Eide) Breiland in Grand Forks, North Dakota. He was raised and educated in Buxton, North Dakota graduating from high school in 1949. During high school, Myron’s high school basketball team made it to the state tournament placing 3rd in state. As a young man, Myron took over the family farm. He was united in marriage to Donna Nygaard on October 1, 1955, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Buxton. They farmed together and raised their family in rural Buxton.

Myron served on the Central Valley School Board, Buxton Oil Board, the Immanuel Lutheran Church Board and several others. He was a member of the Valley Chordsmen and the NFO. Myron was a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and was active in Sunday School for many years as well as singing in the church choir.

Myron enjoyed playing fast pitch softball in his younger years. He also enjoyed playing cards, singing, fishing and camping. Myron’s greatest joy was his family, especially his grandchildren. 

Myron is survived by his loving wife, Donna Breiland; children, Loretta (Neil) Adam, Nancy Cameron, Judy (Bill) Erbstoesser, Steve (Shelby) Breiland and Lisa (Darren) Tronson; seventeen grandchildren, Stacy (Chad) Hanson, Terry (Marissa) Adam, Melissa (Reid) Anderson, Chris Cameron, Nathan (Talia) Erbstoesser, Bethany (Jerome) Rarick, Michelle (Travis) Craig, Tiffany (Robert) Samuelson, Ryan Adam, Jessica (Josh) Jordan, Parker (Angela) Breiland, Justin (Alex) Breiland, Jennifer (Garrod) Olson, Megan Tronson, Madison (Brady) Rahlf, Shana Tronson, Gunner Tronson and; thirty-one great grandchildren.

Myron was preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law, Sam Cameron.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Amundson Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at Amundson Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Immanuel Lutheran West Cemetery, Buxton, ND immediately following the service.
