Mildred “Millie” Louise Enockson, 97, Grand Forks, passed peacefully on the morning of December 24, 2022, at Prairie View, Valley Senior Living. Services will be held at a later date. Burial will be at Mapleview Cemetery, Fullerton, ND. Mildred was born January 30, 1925, in Fullerton, ND, to parents Frank and Anna Johnson. She grew up in Fullerton and graduated from Fullerton High School. She took classes at Ellendale Normal and Industrial School and attended Nursing School at Saint Olaf College in Minnesota. She then went on to Nurses’ Training at Fairview Deaconess Hospital in Minneapolis in the Cadet Nurses Corps. She married Gustav Enockson in the Swedish Lutheran Church in Chisago City, MN on May 25, 1946, after his return from World War II and his time in the Navy. His work for the Department of Defense led them to live in thirteen states across the U.S. Their retirement in 1973 allowed them to settle in Valley City, ND to be close to their families again. Mildred was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church of Valley City for many years and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was an avid gardener, loved to cook, read, sew, craft and was a crossword puzzle enthusiast. She had a circle of close friends with whom she loved to play cards in Valley City. She moved to Valley Senior Living in Grand Forks in 2019 to be near her children. Mildred is survived by two daughters, Ann (Warren) Lane of Grand Forks, ND, Mary (David) Gleason of McVille, ND, and granddaughter Andrea (Tyler) Felix of Elk River, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and sisters-in-law, and her husband.
