Meredith Sansburn, 85, Grand Forks, died April 6, 2020 surrounded by her loving family in her home.
Meredith was born August 27, 1934 in Williston, North Dakota, the daughter of Eddy and Marie (Mennenga) Ohnsager. She grew up and graduated from Great Falls High School in 1952.
Meredith married Charles Sansburn Jr. on September 3, 1955 at First Presbyterian Church, Great Falls, MT. They made their home in Grand Forks where Meredith was as figure skating coach for the Grand Forks Park Board, and a Dayton’s Associate until her retirement. Meredith also coached skating for the North Dakota Special Olympics.
She was a Dayton’s President’s Club Award member. She liked to sew, quilting, crocheting, traveling around the country, and spending time at the lake with family. Meredith was a past President of Minnesota District 9 American Legion Auxiliary, and a past President of the East Grand Forks American Legion Auxiliary.
Meredith is survived by her husband, children: Dean, Grand Forks, Scott (Vicke)Grand Forks; daughter, Janel (Jay) Johnston, Grand Forks, Grandchildren: Christopher Sansburn, Sara (Richard) Martin, Marc Sansburn, Eric Sansburn, Nichole Sansburn; great grandchildren Zakary and Abigail Sansburn.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her mother and father inlaws.
A family service will be streamed from First Presbyterian Church, Grand Forks, at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 10, 2020.
A memorial service will be held later in the summer.
