Melvin Rosholt

April 24, 1926 — October 9, 2019

Melvin O. Rosholt, 93, Thief River Falls, MN, and formerly of Grand Forks, died Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at Sanford Medical Center, Thief River Falls, MN.

Melvin Orville Rosholt, the son of Severin and Mary (Nelson) Rosholt, was born at Mayville, North Dakota on April 24, 1926.He attended rural schools near Mayville.   He served in the US Army as a paratrooper during World War II.  He met his future wife, Marlys, while he was working construction at Cando, North Dakota.   They lived in Grand Forks until January, 2019 when they moved to Greenleaf Assisted Living and Memory Care. 

Melvin enjoyed gardening, woodworking and making picture frames.  He was one who really liked to help out family and friends with projects when  needed.  

Melvin is survived by his wife of 71 years Marlys, Thief River Falls, MN;  daughters, Judy (Mitch) Hams, Thief River Falls, MN, and Cindy (Bill) Maisey, Peachtree City, Georgia;  3 grandchildren, Melissa Hendry, Sarah Maisey, and Chris Maisey;  3 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Sidney Rosholt;  sisters, Blenda Egge, and Olga Eichhorst.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2019 in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St., Grand Forks.  Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.  Interment will be in Memorial Park South Cemetery, Grand Forks at a later date.
