Melvin Just

Melvin Just, age 88, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 26, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks. Melvin was born on September 6, 1935, in Medina, ND to John and Maria (Heupel) Just. Following his high school graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. While Serving in the Air Force, he married Mary Liska on June 29, 1957. The couple was blessed with four children: Sharlene, Linda, Susan, and Melvin John. Melvin retired from the Air Force as a Technical Sergeant (E6) after 22 years, 2 months and 14 days. In 1974, following his Honorable Discharge, Melvin started working at the Columbia Mall as a maintenance technician. A job Melvin held and enjoyed until his second and final retirement in 2002. Melvin was a true family man. He doted on his wife Mary and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His loving spirit will be missed by his family and friends. Melvin is survived by his wife, Mary Just of ND; children: Sharlene Just of MT, Linda Just (Don) of TX, Susan Just (Dan) of MN and Melvin John (Tuesday) Just of MN; five grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents: John and Maria Just; four sisters and three brothers. Per Melvin’s request, a Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
